Turn of the Millennium, Preserved Like It Was Struck Yesterday
The Story: By 2000, the Denver Mint was turning out Lincoln cents by the billions every single year — a coin so common it barely registers as currency at all. Almost none of that production survives today in a condition anyone would call remarkable; the ordinary path for a cent is a cash drawer, a couch cushion, or a coin jar, not a protective holder.
The Object: Lincoln Memorial cent, business strike, Denver Mint, copper-plated zinc composition. PCGS certified Mint State 68 Red — full original mint color. Flag before publishing: I could not independently confirm the exact 2000-D mintage figure or a current PCGS population count for this specific date and grade — pull both from PCGS CoinFacts before using a specific rarity number in the live listing.
The Curation: Encapsulated by PCGS, archivally stored, certification independently verifiable.
The Case & The Acquisition: Same audience as the 1994-D above — registry builders and condition-rarity specialists — but a different date, worth keeping distinct on the page so the two don't read as interchangeable. Offered at $324.
The Year Nobody Thought to Save
The Story: The first coins of a new king get pocketed and saved almost on reflex — a keepsake from a new reign. By the second year, the novelty wears off. 1903 was the second year of Edward VII's coinage, and sovereigns from that year went straight back into ordinary circulation instead of a drawer, which is exactly why they're documented as harder to find in top condition than the more commonly hoarded first-year issues. Sydney struck 2,806,000 sovereigns in 1903 — a modest figure for the type, and thinner still in grades this clean.
The Object: Struck at the Sydney Mint (Australia) in 22-karat gold, 7.98 grams, 0.2354 troy oz pure gold. Obverse portrait of Edward VII by George William de Saulles, signed DES; reverse St. George and the dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci; small "S" mintmark in the ground line above the date. PCGS certified Mint State 62. Reference: Spink 3973, Marsh 205. Reported population data (recheck before listing): as of recent published figures, fewer than 100 examples have been certified across PCGS and NGC combined at this grade or finer — genuinely scarce, not just marketed that way.

The Case & The Acquisition: For the British Empire gold specialist, and for the specific breed of collector who chases "second year of a reign" dates precisely because they're the ones nobody thought to protect at the time. Offered at $1,350 — priced for a date whose scarcity in this condition is a matter of documented record, not a sales technique.
The Nickel Minted During a Manufactured Panic
The Story: In 1965, the U.S. Treasury blamed a nationwide coin shortage largely on collectors and hoarders, and responded by stripping mintmarks off every U.S. coin and cancelling proof and uncirculated mint sets outright for three straight years. In their place: an unusual, in-between product called the Special Mint Set — struck without any mintmark at the San Francisco Assay Office, using polished dies on unpolished planchets, aiming for a finish better than a regular uncirculated coin but short of a true proof.
The Object: Jefferson nickel, Special Mint Set strike, San Francisco Assay Office, no mintmark (by design — mintmarks were suspended entirely from 1965 through 1967). PCGS certified Specimen 67 — the "SP" designation reserved specifically for this three-year production method.
The Curation: Encapsulated by PCGS, archivally stored, certification independently verifiable.
The Case & The Acquisition: For collectors of the 1965–1967 Special Mint Set run specifically, and Jefferson nickel date/type collectors who want a coin from one of the shortest, strangest three-year windows in modern U.S. minting history. Offered at $110.

If it arrives to the customer with any defects, we accept the return of unused products within 14 days of delivery for exchange.

Shipping times will vary based on the options you select at checkout. Online orders without engraving options will typically ship the next day. Orders with Signature Line branding have a typical processing time of 3-5 days before shipping. Orders requiring Custom Artwork to be designed will normally delay shipping by 1 week, as the order will not be processed until the artwork is approved by the customer.
